About Me
Life gets better through change. My autobiographical art strikes the strings of tension that interweave all our lives and create change. It encompasses memories and moments that impact our lives and explores the themes of family and home
I use pen and ink (and the use of line variations) to create open and closed spaces through which the viewer can insert themselves into a memory. My watercolor (with and without ink) breaks out of the boundaries of black line into flow representing the flow of a life.
My aspiration as an artist is based on Franz Kafka’s quote, “Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty...Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” I aspire to keep my ability to see beauty in my home, my family, my travels, and to document that beauty and those memories through art. As J.R.R. Tolkien said, “All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us.”
